Productivity Log: user types & timers

An early step in UX design methodology is creating user types or personas for your product. For this exercise, I wanted to explore how my app might serve different user types, specifically the timers.

A productivity log solves a personal problem I have: keeping track of the work I do each day. As a user, I didn’t feel I needed to conduct UX research to develop personas. Instead, I jump-started with user types based on the roles I’ve had in the past.

Android exercise: OMG Star Wars 2.0

I just put the finishing touches on OMG Star Wars, an Android app demo I’ve been working on for the past few weeks.

It uses some of the original base layouts but provides a cleaner, more civilized look and feel. I got a chance to experiment more with the upcoming MaterialComponents (still in alpha) and practices with some hidden features like AutoTextSize and LayoutAnimation for RecyclerViews.

Android development exercise: OMG Star Wars!

I was recently contacted about a Senior Product Design role that is potentially a hybrid design & development role. After meeting with them and discussing my Android background, they asked that I do a take-home coding exercise based on the Star Wars API.
