This was a mix I put together last summer after a weekend long party in Big Sur. I was a little out of place among the minimalism and dubstep kids, but they warmed up and had fun (in many ways).
The mix takes off with upbeat vocal house including Bob Marley, Lighthouse Family, and Jamiroquai. The build-up plateaus with a bit of summery trance including Above and Beyond and a spanish guitar bit by Ron Hagen and Pascal M. The the mix switches into fun mode with two mashers: True Identity’s Kidsos remake and and fun Shine On redux. I return to the vocal house with a couple of classics and then settle in with some balearic house magic, including an amazing Ashley Beedle remix of X-Press 2′s Enjoy the Ride (worth checking out for that track alone!).
