I was fortunate to get a chance to play at the G-Spot camp this year. They're an old school BM group with serious cred, an open bar, and AMAZING dinners. I wasn't sure what to play - their DJ mixer had a big "NO DUBSTEP" sticker on it so I tried to thread the needle with a glitchy, funky afternoon vibe. I ended up having a blast and was on a high for the rest of the night.
A light, bright ambient set I threw together while waiting out a white out Tuesday night at Burning Man.
Our camp had gone exploring on the playa only to get caught in a massive dust storm. At times we couldn't see more than 20 feet in any direction, so once you found an installation to chill in, you were going to be there for a while.
Fortunately, my bike was very well lit up so there was little chance of getting run over by an art car or darktard. Once the storm broke a little, I could see the next art installation through the haze and set out for it. From there I could see the next installation, and so on until I got back to the Esplanade. After that it was easy to return to camp, kick it in my DJ booth / tent, and play this ambient set. Afterwards I got back on my bike, headed out to the playa and it was totally clear and beautiful.
